You can’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been.

With only a handful of Caicos Sloops remaining and Inspired by the hugely successful Vanishing Sail, we set about creating the Caicos Sloop Initiative to perpetuate the art and craft of sloop-building and sailing (which was once the lifeblood of this country) and showcase TCI boat-building as a sustainable cornerstone of our culture.

THE INITIATIVE

Providing an important link between past and future, the Caicos Sloop initiative celebrates TCI culture, providing educational, training and employment opportunities (and hopefully a popular tourist attraction).

The Sloops are being built at the National Museum in Provo by one of the few remaining master craftsmen.

Individuals and/or corporates have the unique opportunity to own one of these beautiful Sloops which are now being built under commission.  They are supplied ready-to-sail, complete with rigging spars, sails and a launching trailer.

Sloop owners can promote their brand on the Sloop sails and hull, providing a low cost high impact marketing tool (aligned to a sustainable ….).

The Caicos Sloop Club plan to organise a range of sailing programmes throughout the year to accommodate the various stakeholder groups. These include;

    • Learn to Build
    • Learn to Sail
    • Learn to Race
    • Corporate Regattas
    • Traditional Regattas
    • Private Charter

Proceeds from the various programmes will be used to run the club and to store and maintain the Sloops.

The Initiative is strictly not for profit. Caicos Sloop initiative is a registered TCI Charity.
